As a engineer/designer/developer/artist/coder/… I totally dig on this sentiment.
Historical footnote: I once created a proof-of-concept for General Electric in which the front end was designed largely with VML (which Jon Galloway mentions in passing in his post above) while the back end was developed in ASP. Pretty cutting edge for the time and was generally well received. In fact, so well received I later found out that BearingPoint had ripped it off.
